Manuscript Classification

The manuscripts submitted to the Journal of the Korean Society of Hazard Mitigation(KOSHAM) are classified into “general manuscript” and “urgent manuscript” according to the review procedure.
The manuscripts are classified into Research Papers, Discussion and Replies. Research Papers should be a well organized thesis based on original theories of experimental research and technical achievement. Discussion and Replies should present complementary of different data or opinions on previously published research method and result. In principle, the writer should reply to the discussion.

Contributor

The first author and corresponding author should be a regular member of the KOSHAM with no unpaid annual fee. The maximum number of authors cannot exceed six in principle.

Submission

Manuscript should be electronically submitted. The link to journal submission can be found in the website of the KOSHAM (http://www.kosham.or.kr). References must be completed in the following form. For example;

Review Process

The submitted manuscript shall be reviewed according to the ‘Korean Society of Hazard Mitigation Regulations on Operation of Editorial Board of Collected Papers’ by 3 reviewer (those with a doctor's degree coinciding with the subject of paper or experts corresponding to that) selected by the Chairman of Board or Assistant Administrator.

Review and Publication Fee

The review fee is 60,000 won for a general manuscript and 150,000 won for an urgent one. The fee should be paid at the time of manuscript submission.
The publication fee of general and urgent manuscript are depending on the number of pages published. The fee should be paid prior to the publication of accepted manuscript.

Research Ethics

All authors of manuscript must abide by ‘Research Ethics Regulation’ of KOSHAM. For the policies on the research and publication ethics not stated in this instructions, International standards for editors and author (https://publicationethics.org/guidance/Guidelines) can be applied.

Sex/Gender Considerations

① Authors should ensure correct use of the terms sex (when reporting biological factors) and gender (identity, psychosocial or cultural factors).
② Unless inappropriate, authors should report the sex or gender of study participants, the sex of animals or cells.
③ If the study was done involving an exclusive population, for example in only one sex, authors should justify why, except in obvious cases (e.g., prostate cancer).

Copyright Transfer and Author’s Check List

All authors of the manuscript would like to publish in the “Journal of the Korean Society of Hazard Mitigation” must agree to transfer all forms of copyright to KOSHAM.

Author should submit manuscript with the “Copyright Transfer Agreement” and “Author’s Check List” in the website of KOSHAM (https://submission.kosham.or.kr).
