고시원 화재시 방염처리 효과에 관한 실험적 연구

An Experimental Study on the Effect of Flame Resistant Treated in Gosiwon Fires
Abstract
The risk of casualties is inherently high in the event of a fire in a goshiwon, a residential facility with small single-room accomodations,since the building is divided into a number of small rooms in a single floor among multi-use establishments. Therefore, flame resistant treatment of plywood and wood materials for interior design is required to minimize casualties in the event of a fire. To examine the effect of flame resistant treatment, combustion characteristics of flame resistant treated plywood were analyzed and a real scale fire test was performed by creating a fire area in the actual goshiwon building. The heat release rate of plywood treated with flame retardants was measured 12.4 MJ/m 2lower than that of untreated plywood, and ignition temperature was 120oC higher. According to the result of the real scale fire test, time taken to reach the highest temperature was 120 seconds for flame resistant treated plywood and 65 seconds for untreated plywood in the early stages of fire. Therefore, flame resistant treatment was found to have a considerable effect on fire spread protection.

요지
다중이용시설 중 고시원은 한 층에 다수의 실이 구획되어 있기 때문에 화재발생시 인명피해의 우려가 매우 크다. 따라서 화재발생 시인명피해를 최소화하기 위해 합판이나 목재를 실내장식물로 사용할 경우 방염 처리하여 사용하도록 규제하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 방염처리의 효과를 알아보기 위해 방염처리 합판의 연소특성을 분석하였으며 실제 고시원과 동일한 화재실을 구성하여 실규모 화재 실험을 수행하였다. 방염처리 합판은 방염처리하지 않은 합판에 비해 열방출률이 12.4 MJ/m2낮게 측정되었으며 발화온도는120oC 높게 측정되었다. 또한 실규모 화재 실험결과 초기화재시 최고온도에 도달하는 시간이 방염처리를 했을 경우 120초, 방염처리를 하지 않았을 경우 65초가 걸리는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이에 따라 방염처리는 초기 화재확대방지에 매우 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 확 인되었다.
